Duke basketball: Grayson Allen asked about tripping incidents, again – Ball Durham

Tripping incidents are a topic of discussion once again with former Duke basketball guard Grayson Allen.

In his first public appearance as a Milwaukee Buck, former Duke basketball standout Grayson Allen was asked about his tripping incidents in college.

Allen, sitting next to former Blue Devil Rodney Hood, was shockingly asked about his Duke days in his first press conference after being traded from the Memphis Grizzlies. The reporter asked if it was fair or not that people still bring up his college lowlight now that he is a veteran in the NBA.

Without missing a beat Allen responded to the question, “I mean you just asked me about it. Do you think it’s fair?” as he laughed.

It is no secret that Allen was severely under the microscope at Duke as his tripping episodes gathered national attention, and that has translated to the NBA whenever the former Blue Devil is in a dust-up or involved in a hard foul.

Most notably, Allen has been in some skirmishes with Atlanta Hawks All-Star Trae Young in which become more high-profiled technical and flagrant fouls given Grayson Allen’s history.

However, Allen took the rest of the question in stride, ending his comments with “it is what it is.”

Former Duke basketball champion looking to smooth over hard feelings

One thing that Grayson Allen will try to have to smooth over is his relationship with the Milwaukee Bucks fanbase, most of whom are likely Wisconsin Badgers fans.

Allen burst upon the college basketball scene during the 2015 Final Four when Duke defeated Michigan State and the seldom-used freshman became the spark plug the Blue Devils needed to defeat the Badgers in the National Title game.

Grayson Allen finished the National Championship with 16 points off the bench in 21 minutes as Duke captured its fifth National Title.

The Milwaukee Bucks and Grayson Allen will begin their quest to repeat as NBA Champions on October 19 against the Brooklyn Nets.
