LaMarcus Aldridge becomes 48th player in NBA history to score 20,000 points – NBA.com

LaMarcus Aldridge reaches 20,000 career points on Friday night vs. Pacers

Just over six months ago in April, LaMarcus Aldridge announced his retirement from the NBA because of an irregular heartbeat condition. He rejoined the Brooklyn Nets in September after his doctors fully cleared him to play.

And on Friday night, with 1:58 remaining in the third quarter, the seven-time All-Star hit a 22-foot jumper to reach that 20,000th career point mark. Aldridge scored 21 points on 10-of-16 shooting in Brooklyn’s 105-98 victory against Indiana.

Aldridge became the 48th player in league history and the seventh active player to score 20,000 points, joining LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Kevin Durant, James Harden, Russell Westbrook and Chris Paul.

“It’s a blessing,” said Aldridge following the game.
