Scottish delight

In Group F, Scotland kept their dreams of qualifying for the World Cup alive with a stunning 3-2 win over Israel. In what was their third win in a row, Scotland got a last-minute goal from Scott McTominay to earn the win. Scotland had to come back from a goal down twice in a match where they dominated the chances, and losing this one would have seen them slip to third place in the table.

McTominay was in the right spot at the right time at the back post, sending fans at Hampden Park into a frenzy. Take a look:

A dramatic goal that could be the turning point for their qualifying campaign.

Denmark closing in on punching ticket

Dominant Denmark moved to 7-0-0 in qualifying with their 4-0 win over Moldova as they still have a seven-point lead over Scotland. The Euro semifinalists are on the verge of punching their ticket to next year’s World Cup as four different players scored, all in the first half. The Danes did not allow a single shot on goal and haven’t even conceded once in their seven qualifiers up to this point, all the while scoring 26 goals. Andreas Olsen, Simon Kjaer, Christian Norgaard and Joakim Maehle scored the goals against Moldova.

All along, it never felt like they wouldn’t win the group, but they’ve answered the call with dominant performances and are now a near-lock to qualify.

Grealish scores first England goal

Jack Grealsh scored his first ever goal for the England national team in their 5-0 win over Andorra with a tidy finish at the very end. The Manchester City man, making just his 15th appearance, got free late and took several touches on his way to goal before finishing to the left. Take a look:

In his 11th cap of the year, he gets his goal-scoring moment in what’s been a fun year for the former Aston Villa man. He looks headed for a trophy-filled season with City, got all the way to the Euro final with England and now begins his goal tally for the Three Lions.
